ATLANTA, Ga., Jun. 5 – Employment in the hospitality industry is continuing its slow rebound from the pandemic, according to the latest federal jobs report. Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 339,000 in May, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported, with about 1,300 of those new jobs in hotels and motels. Overall, the leisure and hospitality segment added about 48,000 jobs, according to the jobs report. Despite the gains, the U.S. unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage points to 3.7 percent.
