As we approach the spookiest night of the year, we couldn’t resist highlighting one of the most haunted hotels owned by an AAHOA Member! The Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa, located in Hood River, OR, has long had a reputation for eerie happenings, and it's no wonder—it’s even listed among the haunted houses in Oregon.
This historic property, owned by the family of AAHOA Northwest Regional Director Taran Patel, recently played host to AAHOA's first-ever Sunrise Soirée: Her Path to Ownership, Powered by Ride.
Guests and staff have reported several spine-tingling encounters at the Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa, including the mysterious smell of cigar smoke linked to a former resident who passed away on the property. There have also been strange occurrences such as furniture being barricaded from inside rooms with no one present and ghostly apparitions of a man in a frock coat and top hat, as well as a lady in white who reportedly leaped from a hotel balcony. Room 330 is said to be haunted by a woman’s ghost, while a child’s spirit is believed to linger on the ground floor, where a pool once stood.
