AAHOA Ambassador Spotlight: Meet Sarah Gulati, Hotelier & Hospitality Attorney

Q: Can you tell us about your background and your role within AAHOA?
A: I am a hotelier and hospitality attorney based in the North Florida region. My journey in the hospitality industry began early, influenced by my family's background in real estate. This exposure nurtured my passion for both independent and branded hotels, eventually guiding me towards a career in hospitality law.

Q: What is the best advice you have ever received?
A: The best advice I’ve received is to never give up and stay focused—because the world is full of opportunities waiting to be explored. Persistence and determination open doors, and with the right mindset, anything is possible.

Q: Which piece of media (book, newsletter, podcast) has had a significant impact on you, and why?

A: Two books that have profoundly influenced me are Relentless and The SecretRelentless instills the mindset of unwavering determination, discipline, and the pursuit of excellence. Meanwhile, The Secret highlights the power of positive thinking and the law of attraction, reinforcing the idea that focus and belief can shape outcomes. Together, these books inspire a balance of persistence and optimism, shaping my approach to both personal and professional growth.

Q: If you could accomplish anything you set out to do, what would that be?
A: If I could accomplish anything, it would be to cultivate a sense of balance in all individuals, encouraging a more conscious and thoughtful approach to life—one that fosters inclusivity, awareness, and meaningful progress.

Q: What is your favorite part of being an AAHOA Ambassador?

A: As an AAHOA Ambassador, I find the most rewarding aspects to be the networking opportunities, continuous education, and the ability to drive meaningful advocacy changes. Connecting with industry professionals allows for valuable collaboration, while ongoing education helps us stay informed and elevate our expertise. Most importantly, being part of advocacy efforts enables us to make a tangible impact, shaping policies that benefit our community and the hospitality industry as a whole.

Q: How did you get started in the industry, and what are your personal (or business) goals for the future?

A: Coming from a family of real estate professionals, I was immersed in the industry from an early age, gaining insight into both independent and branded hotels. This foundation eventually led me to practice law in hospitality, further refining my expertise in the sector. Looking ahead, my ultimate goal is to establish my own boutique-branded hotel—a space dedicated to inner wellness, designed with a sustainable, green concept that fosters balance and well-being for all who visit.
