AAHOA Florida Leaders Attend Event to Support Re-Election of U.S. Senator Rick Scott

Recently, AAHOA Members from Florida, including Immediate Past Chairman Bharat Patel (2023-2024) attended an event supporting the re-election of United States Senator Rick Scott. Senator Scott has been the junior Florida Senator since 2019 and was the 45th Governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019. Florida Senator Nick DiCeglie was also present at this event.

Both Senator Scott and Senator DiCeglie have personal relationships with AAHOA and its members - Senator Scott recently spoke on the main stage at AAHOACON24 in Orlando, FL, where he addressed attendees about his support for AAHOA’s advocacy efforts and his plans to help the hospitality industry if he is re-elected.

Senator DiCeglie met with Immediate Past Chairman Bharat Patel and AAHOA Treasurer Rahul Patel in February of this year to address concerns regarding short-term rental legislation and the escalating costs of commercial insurance premiums in Florida. Senate Bill 280 was spearheaded by Senator DiCeglie, which aimed to enhance platform accountability and ensure that all short-term rentals secure a license and fulfill their tax obligations.

AAHOA Members understand the importance of maintaining relationships with their state officials in order to achieve policies that positively impact hoteliers and the industry as a whole and attending events such as these is a perfect opportunity to do so.
