AAHOA Lifetime Member Ricky Patel, Litigation Of Counsel, Akerman, was recently honored as a 2025 Trailblazer by the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of South Florida. The award highlights attorneys who demonstrate leadership, service, and impact in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

A dedicated advocate for human rights, Ricky founded ITS4THEKIDS, a nonprofit that supports children in need. His community involvement includes work with The United Way, Gracious Hands Haitian Orphanage, Puerto Rico Relief, and Fashion Gives Back, which he co-founded. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Advisors for St. Thomas University School of Law and previously chaired the board of Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

Ricky focuses on complex litigation, crisis management, and mass torts in his legal practice. He works closely with clients in the hospitality industry and has been actively involved with AAHOA since early in his career.

APABA is a nonprofit bar association that supports Asian Pacific Islander American attorneys through programming, mentorship, and professional development.
