The federal government will increase per diem rates for lodging by a minimum of $9 a night in Fiscal Year 2024, a win for hoteliers. 

The higher rates reflect AAHOA's advocacy efforts to increase the per diem rate for government employee work-related travel.

The General Services Administration (GSA) announced that the standard lodging rate in the continental United States will increase from $98 to $107. Rates are higher in many metropolitan areas and during peak demand seasons. Details can be found here.

Additionally, as many private-sector and nonprofit organizations index their own travel reimbursements against the GSA rates, we expect these higher rates to benefit hoteliers broadly.
