AAHOA Vice Chairman and Treasurer Travel to Washington, D.C., to Meet with Members of Congress

Recently, AAHOA Vice Chairman Kamalesh (KP) Patel and AAHOA Treasurer Rahul Patel visited Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress to discuss the most pressing issues facing the hospitality industry.

  • Deeper Dive: While visiting Capitol Hill, they met with nine different members of Congress on both sides of the political aisle, discussing the SBA 7(a) loan program. They also offered members of Congress back-of-the-house tours and discussed other issues that remain top-of-mind for hoteliers, such as the labor shortage and tax policy. It was a productive and insightful trip.
  • Background: Advocacy is a cornerstone of AAHOA and a vital tool for championing the interests of its membership. By engaging in advocacy, AAHOA ensures that the voices of its members are heard in the corridors of power, influencing policies that directly impact their businesses.
  • What's Next: The AAHOA Board, Ambassadors, Leaders, and Members will return to D.C. in September for the 2024 AAHOA Fall National Advocacy Conference.
