Alabama Daily News reports Goldman Sachs
announced it will bring its $100 million initiative to help small businesses in
rural areas to Alabama. Alabama Regional Director Sanjay Patel and AAHOA
Ambassador Rupen Patel attended the event, which also attracted U.S. Sen.
Katie Britt (R-AL) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL). The funding will ease
tax burdens for small business owners, including hoteliers.
According to the Alabama Daily News, the
financial firm is launching a $100 million Investment in Rural Communities initiative,
an expansion of its 10,000
Small Businesses program. The program provides small businesses with
loans, business training programs, and access to grant funds. It has already
graduated 16,106.
