Greater Los Angeles Area Regional Director Naresh Bhakta, alongside local ambassadors Abhinav Mehta, Mayur Patel, and Vibhuti Panchal, hosted a Town Hall meeting in San Luis Obispo, CA, on Tuesday, June 20.

Panchal opened the event by welcoming those in attendance and sharing the importance of becoming an AAHOA Member. 

Former San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Director Molly Kern discussed the many ways the chamber promoted business priorities in policy and how it continues to shape the business climate in San Luis Obispo. 

Attendees heard updates on many key issues, including California Senate Bill 403 (“SB 403”), which could single out South Asians and other vulnerable ethnic communities and could lead to improper and unlawful racial profiling and stigmatization of individuals of Asian American descent. Additionally, AAHOA received special congressional recognition, and Past Board Director Pragna Patel was honored by the City for exceptional business leadership.

During the meeting, additional insights were shared about the newly launched AAHOA Foundation and the highly anticipated HerOwnership Conference & Retreat in November. It also encouraged hotel owners to connect with other members from across the nation at regional events and legislative summits.
