In this webinar, AAHOA President & CEO Laura Lee Blake, Vice Chairman Bharat Patel, and Lifetime Member Neil Patel discuss the importance of an independent and fair process to resolve disputes and the role negotiations play in minimizing litigations. 

“I will share with you some good news,” AAHOA President & CEO Laura Lee Blake said. “As a part of recent negotiations with the various Franchisors, one Franchisor, in particular, is looking at establishing a new dispute resolution process before the parties are headed to binding arbitration.

“The key is to remind the Franchisor and remind yourself that we have a financial situation. It’s not a legal issue,” AAHOA Vice Chairman Bharat Patel said. “We don’t immediately have to grab an attorney. Typically, what ends up happening is that I hire an attorney, they hire an attorney, and we’re not resolving the basic issue. It’s best to come across with open eyes and open ears.”

“That small initial investment of getting someone to read the contract on your behalf will help you in the long run,” AAHOA Lifetime Member Neil Patel explained. “If or when there is a legal dispute, you will be better educated because you negotiated the terms. You can use legal advice to negotiate and know that AAHOA has your back with the 12 Points.”
