Tomorrow is #WearBlueDay - Support the Cause With AAHOA!

As we approach National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, which is tomorrow, Thursday, January 11, it is vital to reflect on the crucial role hoteliers play in combating human trafficking. AAHOA remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting awareness and educating our community on how to recognize and report suspected instances of human trafficking.

The global statistics on human trafficking are alarming, with an estimated 25 million to 40 million victims worldwide and approximately 50,000 new victims brought into the U.S. each year. The ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic have only intensified the vulnerability of at-risk populations.

Tomorrow, on #WearBlueDay, we urge each member of our community to participate in this visible stand against human trafficking. Wearing blue is not just symbolic; it is a tangible demonstration of our collective commitment to eradicating this crime. Share your photos on social media using the hashtag #WearBlueDay, and send them to pr@aahoa.com to be featured across AAHOA platforms.

In our ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking, AAHOA offers BEST Inhospitable to Human Trafficking Training, Sponsored by AAHOA. This comprehensive, completely digital training is available free of charge to all AAHOA Members and their employees. By getting trained today, you are not only saving lives but also protecting your business.

To further amplify our commitment, stay tuned for a special video release tomorrow on AAHOA’s YouTube channel. This video will highlight the importance of #WearBlueDay, and showcase the efforts of our community in the ongoing fight against this issue.

AAHOA Member Maulik Pandya sent a photo for #WearBlueDay of his team at G T Hotels Victorville and had this to say: "I am pleased to inform you that G T Hotels Victorville managed by Trimurti Associates is committed to promoting a safe and secure workplace for all employees and guests. As part of our dedication to corporate responsibility, we have implemented comprehensive human trafficking training for our staff."

Pandya went on to say, "This training aims to raise awareness, provide knowledge, and equip our employees with the tools to identify and address potential signs of human trafficking. We believe that by fostering a culture of vigilance, we contribute to the collective effort against this grave issue."
