Statement from AAHOA on the
Tragic Attack in Jammu & Kashmir
ATLANTA, APRIL 28, 2025 – AAHOA (Asian American Hotel Owners Association) stands in solidarity with the victims and families affected by the horrific attack in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, where gunmen senselessly took the lives of at least 26 people and injured many more—most of them tourists.
We abhor all acts of violence, and this particular tragedy is especially heartbreaking for our community of hoteliers. The attack occurred in a region known for its natural beauty and tourism, impacting not only the lives of innocent travelers but also the hoteliers, hospitality workers, and local businesses who rely on tourism for their livelihoods.
Our hearts go out to all those affected by this heinous act. We send our deepest condolences to the victims' families and loved ones, and we hope for healing for those injured and traumatized.
If you know of anyone in our community who has been directly impacted, please contact us at PR@aahoa.com. AAHOA stands ready to offer support in any way we can.
Tourism should be a bridge between cultures, a source of livelihood, and a path to peace. We condemn this violence in the strongest possible terms and call for justice and protection for those who seek to experience the world safely and freely.
